The company has been awarded the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of a wastewater treatment system in Chincha (Peru), which will directly benefit 345,000 people.

According to the latest Report of the UN Global Compact in Spain, the percentage of companies that carry out actions that contribute to the SDGs has increased from 86% in 2020 up to 90% in 2024.

The second call for PERTE (Spanish acronyms for Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation) for the digitalisation of the water cycle has selected four projects participated by Aqualia, for a total amount of more than 35 million euros.

Aqualia's Board of Directors has appointed Santiago Lafuente Pérez-Lucas as CEO, effective 9th April 2024. Lafuente, who previously held the Director position for Spain, will be returning to the citizen services group after 30 years.
