Atlas Copco Presents Energy-Optimized Blowers and Pumps

Advanced blower and pumping technologies for water and wastewater treatment will be presented, focusing on reducing energy consumption and improving operational efficiency in treatment plants and dewatering applications.

Reducing Energy Consumption in Wastewater Aeration
In wastewater treatment plants, aeration systems account for a significant share of total energy usage, often driven by continuous blower operation. Optimizing blower efficiency directly impacts operational expenditure and process stability.

At the Water Equipment Show 2026, Atlas Copco will present blower technologies designed to address these constraints. The ZB high-speed turbo blower range has been expanded with additional impeller configurations, enabling more precise matching between airflow demand and system requirements. This improves energy performance across varying load conditions and supports optimized process control.

Complementing this, the ZS6 and ZS6 VSD screw blowers are designed for high flow applications requiring operational flexibility. Variable speed drive (VSD) functionality allows adjustment of output in response to real-time demand, reducing energy waste during partial load operation. The updated ZS4 and ZS4 VSD models further focus on efficiency improvements and noise reduction, supporting installation in environments with stricter acoustic constraints.

Equipment Demonstration at Water Equipment Show 2026
The technologies will be presented at Stand G12 during the Water Equipment Show 2026, a UK-based event focused on water and wastewater infrastructure. The exhibition provides a platform for operators, contractors, and engineers to evaluate equipment performance and integration within existing treatment systems.

The display includes both blower systems and dewatering equipment, allowing comparison of solutions across different stages of water management processes.

Dewatering Systems for Construction and Water Management
In addition to aeration equipment, the Power Technique division will present submersible and surface pump systems designed for dewatering applications. Submersible pumps are engineered for operation in confined or submerged environments, where reliability and durability are required under continuous use.

Surface pumps are designed for high flow rates and solids handling, with self-priming capability enabling rapid deployment in temporary or mobile setups. These characteristics are relevant for applications such as site drainage, open excavation, and bypass operations.

The PAS 80 self-priming pump and WEDA dewatering pump will be exhibited as examples of systems designed to maintain operational continuity while minimizing downtime and maintenance requirements.

Operational Impact in Water and Construction Applications
The combined focus on blower efficiency and dewatering performance reflects the need to manage both energy consumption and process reliability in water infrastructure. By improving aeration efficiency and ensuring effective water removal in construction and treatment environments, these systems contribute to lower operating costs and more stable process conditions.

The technologies are applicable across municipal wastewater treatment, industrial water management, and construction site operations, where energy efficiency and equipment reliability are key performance parameters.
