Seven Seas Water Begins Texas Reverse Osmosis Water Project

Seven Seas Water Group (“SSWG”), a multinational provider of Water-as-a-Service® (“WaaS®”) solutions, is proud to announce the groundbreaking of another transformational brackish water reverse osmosis facility; this time in partnership with the South Texas Water Authority (STWA). The event, held on July 8, 2025, marked the official start of construction on a project designed to deliver long-term water security, economic growth, and environmental benefits for Kleberg and Nueces Counties and the broader Coastal Bend region of Texas.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by officials from the South Texas Water Authority, Nueces County, Kleberg County, local municipalities, regional stakeholders, and members of Seven Seas Water Group’s leadership team.
This state-of-the-art Water-as-a-Service® Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Plant will initially deliver 3 million gallons of drinking water per day, with future potential to expand capacity up to 30 million gallons per day for regional supply as agreements between the City of Corpus Christi and STWA take shape. The project represents a critical investment in the long-term stability, prosperity, independence, and resilience of the region’s water supply.

In addition to securing water supply, the project will also generate significant environmental benefits. The concentrate stream generated by the desalination process will be put to beneficial reuse, replenishing nearby water bodies during Texas's hottest months and ultimately supporting the ecological balance of Baffin Bay — one of the state’s most important coastal ecosystems.
The project reflects the power of collaboration between public and private sectors. Judge Rudy Madrid of Kleberg County and Judge Connie Scott of Nueces County, STWA Management, and numerous other regional leaders were recognized for their vision and leadership in bringing this ambitious project to reality.
